Career
Born in Nagano Prefecture. Completed his Ph.D. at the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba in 2007. Subsequently served as a specially appointed assistant professor and lecturer at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology and the Information System Engineering Laboratory (JSK), The University of Tokyo. From 2012, affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Shinshu University, where he became the head of the Autonomous Intelligence and Systems Lab. Became professor at the same university in 2021. Appointed professor in the Department of Robotics, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in April 2025, where he currently serves as the head of the Robotic Systems Laboratory.
